Death
Content Warning: Death, Loss, Grief, Suicide.
Everyone
- It comes to us all.
- For most, it comes too early.
- For some, too late.
- No one knows what happens after you die. We have theories (and sometimes faith in one or more of them).
Yours
- Your fear of your death it's intrinsically related to the fear of preparedness of the ones around you.
A Close Person
- When someone close to you dies, it shatters your life in pieces. It takes time and effort to come up with something out of these. And even so, it's a different life that emerges.
- The shattering happens to everyone around you who was close to the dead. Besides your life being reconstructed, the relationships with these are reborn without the missing link.
- Grief makes you insane for a while. There's no escape. Learn about the different stages of grief.
- You can simulate a minor version of grief by deeply imagining losing the person. But it's never the real deal.
- When someone older dies, it's easier to justify. But it doesn't mean grief will be less severe. You have no control over it.
- With every close person you lose, it gets harder.
Someone else
- Being present, or even may be made aware of someone's death, reminds us of how fragile our lives are.
- Being made aware of mortality is infectious. Someone's grief can pass it on, in smaller doses, to others around them.
- Our relationship with death depends on culture, values, and even the like of work a person chooses to have. It can easier the burden or make it worse.
